The Historic Art District
The Historic Art District is located about a half-mile or 2 kilometers from the beaches in San José del Cabo. On Thursday evenings, the Art District hosts “The Art Walk,” an event in which the art galleries offer wine and open their doors to residents and guests. The majority of the artists are also on site to answer questions and discuss their art. The residents in this area get to enjoy all of the stores and restaurants that are within walking distance, as well as a short walk to the beach.
Plaza Mijares
This is the main square and the heart of downtown San José del Cabo. It’s a picturesque place with a central gazebo, surrounded by colorful colonial buildings. You’ll often find local events and live music here, especially in the evenings.
Church of San José
The historic Church of San José (Iglesia San José) is an iconic landmark with its white facade and bell tower. It’s worth a visit both for its religious significance and architectural beauty.
Restaurants and Cafes
Downtown San José del Cabo offers a wide range of dining options. You can find everything from traditional Mexican cuisine to international dishes. Some restaurants have beautiful courtyards or patios for outdoor dining.
